LinkedIn Profile
In 2005, I founded KLN Communications, Inc. (formerly KDV Communications, Inc.) to offer healthcare companies and organizations strategic, results-oriented communications support that is delivered with integrity, reliability and efficiency. I bring more than 20 years of experience in healthcare communications to my practice, having served medical device and pharmaceutical manufacturers, healthcare facilities, software and service providers, non-profit organizations and industry associations.
My services include case studies, white papers, contributed articles, blog posts, award submissions, communications/marketing materials, press releases, social media content and web copy.
I have long had a passion for medical/surgical technologies, particularly surgical instrumentation and patient monitoring – everything from laparoscopy to respiratory therapy. As the healthcare industry shifts from volume to value, I am particularly interested in technologies that can improve patient care quality while reducing costs at the same time.
I have written extensively for clients on healthcare supply chain technologies, topics and issues, including procure-to-pay process automation, content and contract management, industry data standards (UDI, GS1), system integration (e.g. ERP, EHR), inventory management, distribution and logistics, and provider and supplier collaboration.
I also have expertise in topics related to COVID-19, personal protective equipment (PPE), telehealth, antimicrobial technology and pharmaceutical quality management.
Since 2013, I have served as a contributing editor for Healthcare Purchasing News magazine, covering topics related to the central sterile/sterile processing department (CS/SPD), operating room (OR) and infection control and infection prevention (IC/IP). I previously served as a contributing writer for Pharmainfo.net, authoring articles on pharmaceutical industry trends.
Before founding KLN Communications, I served as a senior member of the life sciences and technology teams at Mullen Advertising and Rasky Baerlein Strategic Communications, two of Boston’s leading communications agencies. In these roles, I oversaw day-to-day program implementation for a broad range of healthcare clients. Previously, I was public relations manager for Prevent Blindness Massachusetts, leading a statewide communications campaign to support the organization’s mission of preventing blindness and saving sight.
I hold a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications from the University of Hartford. I am a member of the Association for Healthcare Resource & Materials Management (AHRMM).
Current and past clients include: GHX, Healthcare Purchasing News, Draeger, McKesson, CirrusMD, Sciessent, STERIS IMS, Association for Healthcare Resource & Materials Management (AHRMM), Sparta Systems, Microline Surgical, TECSYS, Cook Medical, Canadian Medical Equipment Protection Plan (CMEPP), Massachusetts Medical Device Industry Council (MassMEDIC), Roche Molecular Diagnostics, Owens & Minor, American Society for Healthcare Engineering (ASHE), BB Medical Surgical, GlySure Limited, Starion Instruments, Caritas Christi Healthcare (now Steward Health Care), Bite Communications, Suture Ease, Nellcor, B.Braun and Aesculap.
